First Kay Sibiya left SABC1’S Uzalo to relocate to Johannesburg and scored a role on The Queen.
Then Khaya Dladla was reportedly let go after raising concerns about his salary.
Now Mzansi’s fave drama is letting Leleti Khumalo and Sihle Ndaba go.
Leleti, who plays the KwaMashu’s matriarch MaNzuza, is handing over the reins but says she’s grateful to have played character like MaNzuza.
“I’m grateful for the platform the show provided for me to bond with the viewers, and for my fans who have been a part of my journey over the years.
While this hasn’t been an easy decision for me as an artist, it’s time for me to move on and grow professionally in other areas.”
Meanwhile, Sihle, who plays MaNzuza’s sweet baby sister Smangele, left due to changes in the storyline.
According to the production house, Stained Glass Productions, Uzalo needed a revamp, “Uzalo made a few changes and Sihle’s character was written off.
We can’t say whether she’ll be dead or not but she’ll no longer be on the show.”
Having launched four years ago, Uzalo has won the hearts of many viewers and is the No 1 show in the country.
Pepsi Pokane of Stained Glass Productions was sad to let the two actresses go, “Leleti and Sihle have been such an incredible part of the Uzalo story and journey. They will always be part of the family.
It’s been a joy to work with them and, alongside the SABC, we created the platform where they were able to showcase their talent so captivatingly.”
Sihle and Leleti’s last day on set is reportedly 15 December but their last scenes will air in season four until episode six.
