Controversial musician, Wanlov the Kubolor, has made a passionate appeal to the government to build more theatres in the country to aid the growth of the creative arts sector.
Speaking to Becky on the EWITHBECKS show on Joy Prime, the musician argued that when theatres are built across the country, actors will effectively tell stories that impact society.
“I will be [happier] if there were smaller theatres all around the city or the country doing small plays which are addressing issues in the community,” he said.
“That will be a better sign for me than huge plays which will offend some people who are taking advantage of us,” he continued.
He made this comment as the world marked Theatre Day on Tuesday, March 27.
Wanlov, who is also a film production tutor, revealed that his music group, FOKN Bois, has been signed by ‘Quiet Elegance’ in Germany.
