Hip life duo Akatakyie have said that they do can do better than Shatta Wale provided Ghanaians give them the support they had while at the prime of their career.
In an interview with KMJ on Hitz FM on Wednesday, the ‘Odo Asisi Me’ hit makers were asked if they have not outlived their relevance in the music industry.
In their response they said they believe they are still strong and talented and can do better than what the likes of Shatta Wale are doing now.
“Apart from the patois he speaks, we can do far better than what Shatta Wale is doing now. We are not weak. The attitude of retiring musicians when they are aging is bad and should stop. We are coming back stronger and all we need is support from Ghanaians,” they told KMJ.
That notwithstanding, they noted that they like how Shatta Wale plays his card in the music business.
“I like Shatta Wale’s vim. Even when you are pressing him down, he refused to be broken. That is something I have learnt from him,” Pharaoh said.
They also commended Stonebwoy for his calmness and creativitiy.
“Another person I like is Stonebwoy. He is calm but whenever he comes out with a song, it is a hit,” Culture added.
The duo Akatakyie is made up of two brothers Prince Kwabena Budu Asumaning (Kobby Culture) and Ebenezer Kwasi Okyere Asumaning (King Pharoah).
They released their first album in 1999. Some of their popular compositions are ‘Ghana Mmaa,’ ‘Agoo,’ ‘Sinsima,’ ‘Ghana Mmaa,’ and others.
