Kesha penned an emotional letter to her 18-year-old self revealing the hardships she has faced to get where she is now.
The Tik Tok hitmaker starts off by saying she has some good news and some bad news.
“We’ll start with the good news… You made it!”
Kesha then continues to share the bad news. “The bad news is you nearly killed yourself on the road to success, fuelled by fear of failure, crippling anxiety and insecurity.”
In a video shared on CBS Good Morning, Kesha reads the letter, opening up about her struggle with bulimia and anorexia. She also advises herself to “skip the comment section” completely when using social media.

As Kesha reads she tells herself that “art and words do matter” and to be strong because it will help her gain confidence in the future.
The 30-year-old also highlights positive things such as meeting her music hero, Bob Dylan. She reads: “One day you’re gonna meet him [Bob Dylan] and you’re going to weep hysterical happy tears at the thought of it.”
Kesha ends the letter by referring to her latest single, Rainbow. Of the song, the Praying singer says: “You’re gonna be really proud of it because there is light and beauty after the storm, no matter how hard things get. You’re going to write this song so you remember to make it through.”
