The conversation on GhComedy has been pretty heated all over local media for a while now. This conversation has been sparked by the likes of David Oscar Whose crusade has brought the spotlight to home bred comedy, and the likes of foster and DKB who have fanned the flames.
In recent times every tom, dick and harry is claiming to be a Ghanaian comedian, probably due to the amount of attention drawn to this art form by the blood, sweat and tears of David Oscar and his fellows; even Nigerian students have began to parade themselves as GhComedians.
However a legitimate new entrant into the Ghanaian Humor games, is one bright chap named Augustin Dennis or Auggie as he is passionately called by lovers of his art. Auggie has toured with the Corporate Comedy Series road show for three consecutive times, and recently got the highest ratings at the show’s Takoradi stop.
Augustin recently got his international break when Deutsche Welle Radio, Germany featured him on an episode of “Africa Link”. Listeners all over Germany and across Europe heard the class act, perform jokes that define the Ghanaian society.
Speaking to Augustin Dennis about his introduction to the international media, he said “We all put in the hustle, I didn’t do anything extraordinary to be featured. I just played my part and remained myself” the comedian continued to say, “My sole aims is to make my mother proud and represent Takoradi in a regal manner, any other thing that follows is just the icing on my cake”.
